This week's PhotoHunt theme is Furry. We are all furry but I (Teal'c) am the furriest of all. Let me show you a close up of my furs.
And here is a not so close up but you can still see my furriness. I would not let Mom brush me today because I was so not in the mood. Usually my furs look very nice when they are tidy.

My Special Friend Dottie
Today I made a special friend. She is a ladybug and I named her Dottie. She was a fun girl. Here is a picture of her (not a very good one because Mom is a bad photographer sometimes).
Here I am playing Peek-A-Boo with her.
Here I was whispering a secret to her. She thought I was hilarious!
Then Mom said I tried to play too hard when I did this with my lightening fast paw...
So then Mom set Dottie free out the window. She flew away. I am not sad, though. I had fun with her and I bet she did with me, too.

Grooming & Sleeping
We have not been very nice about posing for Mommy lately. She has even tried treats, but those only work on the boys because I do not eat treats of any kind. And the boys will not hold still for them, they just snatch them out of her hand. She has resorted to trying to get pictures at my worst times now so I may rethink the posing because these are not very flattering.
First, she took this picture of me while I was bathing.
Then she made this video of me while I was trying to sleep! She always says Rosie you purr so loudly. I think you can hear it in this video. She was actually trying to film me growling in my sleep but I stopped just in the nick of time.
And finally, here I am playing with her camera strap. Actually, I tried to pull the flashy thing from her hands but she is a little bit stronger than me.
Mom asked me add that if anyone has any tips for getting kitties to pose, please let her know.

Sleepy Sunday: Snuggling with Mommy
Sometimes the best thing to do on a Sunday is snuggle up to my Mommy and sleep. Here I am snuggled up to my Mommy's hairs. I like to sit behind her on the couch and do this and she holds real still so she doesn't wake me up. I think that's nice of her. She says to please overlook her messy hairs because it is hard to keep it tidy when a kitty is fluffing and burrowing into it.

Rosie Undercover
We could not find a thing for this week's photohunt even though we were sure Mommy would have lots of chipped dishes for me to pose with. She must have thrown them out. Instead, I decided to go undercover. To take a nap. We were so busy yesterday (see post below) that we wore ourselves out and we need lots more sleepy time today to make up for it. Happy Saturday!

It's All About the Eyes
I can use my eyes to convey lots of expressions. I have very big eyes which are good for such things. Let me show you.
Here I am being alert and watchful. Notice how big my pupils are. They are like this when I am on high alert.
The next one is my slightly annoyed expression. I squinch my eyes together just a bit and have a serious look that lets Mom know that I am not in the mood to be photographed.

Teach Me Tuesday - Horseshoe Crabs
Are you ready to learn a little something?
The other day I watched a show on Animal Planet. I love Animal Planet and I watch it all the time. This day I was watching a show on horseshoe crabs.
They do not look as much like horseshoes as I expected. Note the difference. But they do a little.
Here are 3 cool things about horseshoe crabs:
1. Its tail is not a weapon even though it looks vishus.
2. They can swim in the water upside down! I thought this was very cool because I can not swim at all.
3. They eat worms. I think that's gross. But they also eat mollusks, too.
Hope you learned something!

Mancat Monday - I am not Patient
This is the view Mom gets every day when I wake her up for our foods. I am not very patient with this. I nudge her with nose. If she doesn't wake up, I nudge her some more and wipe my wet nose all over her face. And if that still doesn't work, I open drawers and closet doors until she gives in and gets up to give us our foods. I'm very persuasive!

Sleepy Sunday: Biggest Yawn EVER
It's sleepy Sunday again and I think you can just how sleepy I am by my big, HUMONGOUS yawn in the pictures below. You can biggify it to get the full effect. I do not know why Mom put this on a pink background, though. It is not a very manly color. Not at all. I'm going to have to talk to her about this.

Photohunt: Hat
It is PhotoHunt time again with Rosie. This week's theme is hat. I do not have a hat of my very own because I am pretty sure I would not like it. But my Daddy has lots of hats. He has hunting hats, baseball caps, cowboy hats, even! But this is one of his favorite hats because he is a huge WVU fan. Mommy's bestest friend in the whole world graduated from there, too, so she likes it as well. I think I am smart enough to go there. But they don't accept cats. Too bad. Here is my picture with his favorite hat.

Our Friends on the Interwebs
We asked our Mom to make a special post to our friends on the interwebs. We are kinda new to this whole blogging thing and we've already got so many comments and even an award nomination, too! So thank you to all our furpals and hoomanpals, you are very special to us.

Puzzle Time!
Mom loves to do puzzles and we love to play with her puzzle pieces. She can't always put them back together again after we do. But we made a puzzle for you today. You can't really put the pieces together, you have to do it in your brain. Ready?
Guess which Country Cat this is. Your choices are
A. Teal'c
B. Kaleb
C. Rosie
D. It's a dog in a cat costume
Do you have the answer in your brain? Ok, now click HERE to see if you're right!

Spokeskitty
I'm thinking that I could make a good Spokeskitty. When Dad brought home this big box, I couldn't resist checking it out. Then, when I was on the box, I started looking for things even higher that I could jump on, too. That's when Mom snapped this photo. I look very handsome and manly up here standing so tall. I'd be their spokeskitty in return for lots of treats and toys.

Photohunt: Aftermath
It's time for Photohunt with Rosie! Today's theme for PhotoHunt is aftermath. My Mommy took this picture first when I was looking mad.
Then she did some speshul e-fects and said I would look like this in the aftermaths if I don't stop sitting on the microwave. I think she was joking but take a look:

CAT DIARY
Day 983 of my captivity. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Imbeciles!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
This morning I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously dumber than I previously thought.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.
For now...

Nosy Rosie
Rosie says:
This is my very first video! Mom got the idea watching Daisy - she is such a good performer. Mom took this video on her digital camera so the video doesn't look so good - she says it looks "grainy". I don't perform well but Mom got this one when I wasn't paying attention. I think I still did good. What do you think?

Oh Noz! She's At It Again!
This is one of my sad faces. I was on the dresser watching Mom play with Rosie on the bed. Mom tried to get me to come play with the toy, too, but I'll be honest...Rosie still scares me a little. Can you tell I have a little scratch on my nose again? No? Mommie probably edited it out. But Rosie has been at it again. She was nice for months and months but for the last two days she's been chasing me around trying to scratch up my handsome face. So I hides. Mom used to have to escort me from room to room so the she-devil wouldn't attack me. I hope it doesn't come to that again.
Truly frightened,
Teal'c

Tissue Paper
I discovered where Mom keeps the tissue papers. She keeps it in a drawer in her dresser and I've learned how to open it all by myself. I watched her putting some up a few days ago and now in the middle of the night I hear her shout Rosie! when she hears the crinkle, crinkle sound of me playing with it. Ohhh how I love that sound! Mom needs to get me some tissue papers of my very own. I like to help her make gift bags. I especially like it when she leaves the gift bags out for a while because I get to play with the tissue papers leaving my own special touch on the gift (in the form of shreds and pieces bitten off). That's sweet of me, dontcha think?

Paperwork
Today Mommie is verrrry busy with paperwork. I like to help Mommie by watching her, or impeding her in some cases. For example, when she does her paperworks, I sits on the papers like this:
Mom needs to get her computer back that takes memory cards because she can't find her USB cord to her camera. This one was taken with her cell phone and she says it doesn't capture my true beauty.

Photohunters: Hope
This was when Teal'c and I were mortal enemies. He was very scared of me and my vicious clawz. Now he knows I'm really a nice girl. This picture represents hope because our Mommie spent a lot of time hoping that we would learn to get along with each other. Mommie got her wish.
Meet Teal'c
I got my name because it's a manly name. Don't you think so? Teal'c. I like it. Ok, I'll be honest and tell all yous a story, but don't laugh. When my old mommie first got me, she thought I was a girl. She had named me Baby. Baby, can you believe it? I don't know why she thought I was a girl because I'm obviously very manly. Anyway, when she took me to the vets to get fixed, he told her I was a boy and I was already fixed. Finally, she saw the error of her ways and renamed me the bestest name she could think of.
When I first came to live with Mommie and Daddie, Rosie didn't like me. She can say it was tuff luvs all she wants to be she was a mean, mean girl. She is the only one of us that has claws on her front paws and she used them to scratch up my handsome face. Mommie and Daddie did their best to keep her away from me, but she would chase me while they were gone and she's so fast. Now we get along ok though and I don't have any more scratchies on my nose. It's nice to not have a scratched up face anymore.
Me and Kaleb always got along. He is the greatest brudder in the world. We luvs to wrestle and sometimes Mommie thinks we are hurting each other but it's just boys being boys, as Daddie says. Kaleb has some good moves, but I have very strong back legs so usually I win. I let him win sometimes, though, since he's the oldest, my big brudder.
I like a lot of the things that Kaleb likes (treats and running water) but my absolute FAVORITE thing in the whole wide word is napping. I take lots and lots of naps, the mostest of any of us. While Mommie works on her laptop (taking away my preferable napping spot), I lay beside her on the sofa arm and sleep. And then I sleep some more. And then I top that off with a little nap. It's a good life here. I like to play with toys once in a while, too, but not as much as Rosie does. She is hyper. She does this spider-cat move on the furniture that I can't do because I came to Mommie and Daddie declawed.
The only thing I don't like much is baths. Mommie has to give me baths though because I have sensitive flaky skin and she has to use special shampoos to make me not itchy. I still don't like it though. I hope you liked reading our stories!
Meet Rosie
My Mommie said, on the spot, "I want this one." Daddy said "are you sure?" I know I wasn't much to look at then. I came from a bad home and wasn't fed very well and had the sickies, too. So I don't blame him. But Mommie said "I'm sure. Look at her, she's trying so hard!" And I was, too. Daddie can't resist when Mommie sets her mind to something, so they wrapped me up in a blanket and carried me to the car after they signed the papers. They are silly and forgot the cat carrier but the nice shelter people let them take me anyway because they only lived 3 minutes away. Even though I was happy Mommie chose me, I was also scared to go to a new place. I had moved around lots and cars aren't fun. I snuggled my face between Mommie's arm and tummy and howled and howled for the three minutes it took to get home.
When they got me home and put me down, I ran and hid. I know, I know, I'm a big fraidy cat. But it was a strange new place and I already saw another cat there! What if he didn't like me? Over the next week, Mommie was very patient with me. She brought food to my hiding spot and a litter box, too. She kept the big kitty (Kaleb) away from me for a few days because I was so nervous. After a week or two, though, I started coming out of my hiding room to get my food and even sniffed around my brudder. He wasn't so bad after all.
But then I got sick. At first it was just the sneezies so Mommie didn't think much about it. Then I got sick eyes, plus the sniffies, plus really hot ears. So Mommie took me to the doctor where I got some nasty medicines. I know it was for my own good but the medicine tasted so bad. They had a hard time giving it to me. After that, I was kinda mad at them for making me open my mouth to take the medicines so I started hiding again. Eventually, I got better though, and was nice to them again.
It took a while but eventually I came to love my parents. I still don't like to be held up high, though, it's so scary! They are tall and I am little and what if they drop me? But if Mommie or Daddie are sitting down, I will crawl into their laps sometimes. I just don't like being held while they are standing. I also like to sleep with them. I snuggle between their legs and sleep and sleep. Mommie tosses around a lot more than Daddie does but I've learned how to keep up with her tossing and turning. Mommie works from home and I follow her wherever she goes. I like to watch her cook or wash the dishes. I just don't like the vacuum cleaner. It's too noisy and I don't like noisy things. I also hide when kids come to visit. I know they are small but they are just so loud. So I wait until the little hoomans fall asleep then I will come out to snuggle with them while they are quiet and go hide when they wake up. That is another reason why Mommie calls me her little 'Fraidy Cat or Scaredy Cat.
Ok, I'll let Teal'c tell you about himself now. Don't believe any mean things he says about me. I know he thinks I gave him a hard time when he got here, but it was just tuff luvs. We get along better now.
Meet Kaleb
